About The Joy Bar

The Joy Bar is a family-owned smoothie, juice, coffee, and vintage clothing shop in downtown Glen Ellyn.

My mom, Megan, started The Joy Bar as a place where people could come in, grab something healthy, and feel welcomed. It has always been more than just a smoothie shop. It is a place for the community. A place for kids after school, people after workouts, families on the weekend, and anyone walking through town.

Recently, I added Joy Bar Apparel to the shop. I source vintage clothing, sportswear, streetwear, jerseys, hoodies, tees, and other unique pieces. Every item is handpicked, cleaned, and brought into the store with the goal of giving people clothes that are affordable, different, and made to be worn again.

To me, vintage clothing is more than just finding cool pieces. It is also a better way to shop. Fast fashion creates a lot of waste, and so many clothes are made quickly, worn a few times, and then thrown away. Shopping secondhand gives clothing another life instead of letting it end up in a landfill.

A lot of older clothing is also better quality. The pieces have character, they last, and they tell a story. Whether it is an old team hoodie, a vintage tee, a jersey, or a pair of sweats, each item feels different from something you would find at a regular store.

That is what we want Joy Bar Apparel to be. A place where people can shop vintage, find something they actually like, and feel good about buying secondhand.

The Joy Bar is still built around family and community. My mom runs the shop every day, and I help grow the clothing side while I am home and while I am away at school. Together, we are trying to make The Joy Bar a place where you can grab a smoothie, look through the racks, support local, and be part of something that feels personal.
